Abstract

Rhipicephalus guilhoni is a three-host tick; the life cycle of which takes a year to complete. It has been recorded from a variety of hosts including domestic animals, mostly cattle and sheep, but also dogs and cats, and wild animals including carnivores, insectivores, artiodactyls, perissodactyls, lagomorphs, rodents and non-passerine birds. This species has also been recorded from humans.
