Abstract
- Aqueous solutions of the nonionic amphiphile n-dodecyl octaoxyethylene glycol monoether (C12E8 ) with the addition of various electrolytes (CsCl,CsI or (CH3)4 NCl) or hydrocarbons (octane or dodecane) are investigated by static and dynamic light scattering and by other complementary techniques. It is found that the miceliar properties are little influenced by the additives, whereas the critical temperature shows a marked effect. The apparent critical exponents γ and V are strongly influenced by the addition of electrolyte, but are not sensitive to the addition of hydrocarbons.
