Vulnérabilité des rivages en Côtes d’Armor (Bretagne Nord, France) : aléas et enjeux

The aim of this study concerns the understanding of the littoral risks along the entire coastline of the Cotes d’Armor county (northern Brittany coast, France). Coastal hazards were characterized and classified into several types according to the different geomorphological features. All the different types of coastal geomorphology occur in this area : igneous or sedimentary-rock cliffs, shingle bars, sandy beaches, muddy embayment, estuaries, coastal dunes, dykes and seawalls. The present-day status of the erosion was mapped overall the coastline. Different types of hazards were recognized and recommendations can be applied for the coastline management.
