Abstract

This paper introduces an optical imaging system with large depth of field based on wavefront coding technology. Firstly, the basic principles of wavefront encoding technology is introduced. Then the optical system is simulated using ZEMAX optical design software. A phase mask is placed at the aperture stop of the optical system to encode the wavefront of light. Hence, the depth of field of the optical system increases from 0.8mm to 4mm. The high-precision and large-depth-of-field optical system designed in this paper using wavefront coding technology not only increases the depth of field, but also maintains a high resolution, which is of great significance for the high-precision inspection and attaching of small parts of machine vision.
