Abstract
- A special technique is developed to find the cycle‐for‐cycle matching between the two pulses using two transducers. The one‐way travel time of ultrasound is determined with an accuracy of several percent of the period of quartz transducer resonance. The results of the technique show the accuracy of the absolute sound velocity of about 1 m/s, in a highly attenuating liquid using 3‐MHz transducers separated by 65 mm.
