Abstract

Background: The aim of the present study was to determine the correlation between the combination of hypertension and diabetes mellitus and arteriosclerosis using pulse wave velocity (PWV). Methods: The subjects were 186 men over the age of 60 years (mean age: 68.8 ± 5.8 years). PWV, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure, body mass index, fasting blood sugar (FBS), total cholesterol, triglyceride and HDL cholesterol were measured in all subjects.
