Abstract

Many cases showed that every school has its platform to conduct online learning during this pandemic period. In these platforms, the students could not receive direct guidance from their teachers. Everyone has their learning styles that cannot be standardized. It is difficult for the teacher to keep on track with hundreds of children. Not to mention that not every parent has enough time and knowledge to guide their children. Using UX Design Thinking Process by Hasso-Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford, we developed a learning integration platform for elementary students called LAISES. Elementary students can learn all the materials in one mobile application and adjust the delivery method with their learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic). LAISES used both teacher and artificial intelligence for the assessment method since AI is proven to improve student performance in academic. We conducted usability testing and found that we managed to help elementary students to personalize their learning styles so they can learn better. We also received a good score (1.86) on the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ).
