Abstract
- A new trinuclear Cu(II) cryptate (1) was synthesized and characterized by Infrared (IR) spectroscopy, single-crystal, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), UV–Vis spectra and electrospray mass spectra (ES-MS). Interestingly, there is one bidentate carbonate group formed by fixation of atmosphere CO2 in the trinuclear unit. The magnetic susceptibility measurements of the sample indicated strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the Cu(II) centers mediated by the bridging hydroxyl groups in the cryptate.
