Abstract
- The phase compensation method based on the concept of damping torque has been successfully applied for the design of Power System Stabilizers (PSS) in single-machine infinitebus power systems for decades. In this paper, the application of the phase compensation method to the design of multiple FACTS-based stabilizers and PSSs in multi-machine power systems is presented. An example three-machine power system is demonstrated, where a TCSC-based stabilizer and a PSS are successfully designed by the phase compensation method to damp power system oscillations.
