Abstract

This paper presents the main results obtained on a solar prototype of an ice machine. A previous study on a laboratory device has demonstrated the physical-chemistry of the system using the pair LiCl/CH3NH2. The apparatus has a solid-gas reactor directly set in the solar collector, an air-condensor and a refrigerator box of 401. The ice production is 4.5 kg by day, so 2.5 kg/m2.day with a solar C.O.P. (energy stocked by ice to the whole incident energy) of 0.053.
