Vegetation Dynamic Maps, Examples Relative to the Central Apennines

The development of vegetation analysis in the Apennines has lead to the recognition of vegetation associations related to each other by characteristic dynamic systems linked to geomorphological factors. Techniques which we have recently developed for mapping such systems suggest that there is a direct relationship between the vegetation series and the geomorphological factors. Mapping techniques are now available to provide a simple representation of the vegetation landscape for any area characterised by uniform geomorphology.
