The material testing institutes cooperating with the Association of Material Testing Institutes are qualified, neutral and independent partners with respect to inspection and calibration of testing machines and testing devices. These tasks are of high relevance for the security of structures and components. In order to ensure the high level of quality, compulsory guidelines for inspection and calibration of Sting machines by the material testing institutes have een worked out regarding staff and equipment. Based on these terms the association of material testing institutes has published a list of recommended laboratories being responsible for inspection and calibration of testing machines according to DIN 51220.
