Abstract

Satellite communications becomes more interesting because of an increasing number of satellite launches for especially Ku-band very small aperture terminals (VSAT). The fifth generation mobile communications (5G)are also expected to accommodate the forthcoming huge traffic demands by using millimeter-wave. For such wireless communications, the needs for high power and high efficiency in GaN power amplifier (PA)have been more increasing. This paper presents the prototyped results of state-–of-the art GaN PA at Ku/Ka-bands.
