SummaryThe pleural-biopsy puncture finds its indication in the positive and differential diagnosis 1° of tuberculous effusions where it regularly brings a decisive and immediate argument much superior to the inconstant and tardy nature of the bacteriological results; 20 of cancerous effusions where, combined with the eytological study of the pleural liquid, it assures a diagnosis of aetiology in the great majority of cases.
