Abstract

Recently, there has been an increase in the number and destructive power of dangerous hydrometeorological phenomena. These phenomena include hail processes. Works on active influences on hail processes with the use of ice- forming reagents are carried out in many countries of the world. Nevertheless, the influence of various factors of the cloudy environment on the ice-forming efficiency of reagents used to influence hail processes remains not fully understood. This paper presents the results of laboratory studies on the effect of an electric field on the ice-forming properties of reagents, as one of the factors of a cloudy environment that can influence the formation of an ice phase in clouds. Conducted laboratory studies have shown that under the action of electric forces there is a decrease in the specific yield of ice-forming nuclei from the pyrotechnic composition used in anti-hail work, which is associated with an increase in the coefficient of coagulation of reagent particles with each other in the presence of an electric field. The specific yield of ice-forming nuclei decreases at temperatures of about -6°C by 2.2 times, and by 1.4 times at temperatures of about -10°C.
