Abstract

Multistage decision-making(control) under fuzziness consists basically in finding an optimal sequence of controls which maximizes the membership function of the fuzzy decision. The fuzzy decision is mainly the intersection of fuzzy constraints imposed on the successive controls applied and fuzzy goals imposed on the successive states attained. This is equivalent to determining an optimal sequence of controls which “best satisfies the fuzzy constraints and fuzzy goals at all the control stages”. The purpose of this Daper is to propose a model in which the strict “” may be replaced by a milder requirement, e.g., “most”, “much more than 50%”, etc. A calculus of linguistically quantified statements is used.
