Abstract

The primary purpose of sampling is to provide data from which a decision can be made to accept or reject the lot from which the sample was drawn. However, if the lot contains both permanent and intermittent defects, this decision may be biased in addition to the known sampling risks by these data to the extent that they are themselves no longer certainties but rather, probabilities.
