Abstract

Coloured cellulose nitrate detectors are now routinely used, especially for dosimetry. Consequently, the problem of customers is the etching treatment of sets of samples in order to avoid aspect defects unknown when etching sheets are handled one by one. Major parameters for getting good results are: the speed and orientation of stirring, a permanent filtering of the etching solution, a very good regulation of temperature, the vertical position of samples, and a fast flow of water when rinsing.
