Abstract

Strains CIAT 899 and PRF81-81 were grown on YEM media and transferred to sterilized peat. Strains were inoculated on bean seeds at the recommended dose of 600 g/50 kg seeds. Before inoculation, seeds were treated with fungicides and immediately after inoculation, the number of viable cell was counted by dilution method in Petri dishes. The following fungicides were used (g/50 kg seeds): benomyl (50g), captan (l00g) and thiabendazole (50g). The number of cells for untreated seeds was: and for CIAT 899 and PRF-81, respectively.
