Abstract

The usage of Banana fibers is a best replacement for synthetic materials that are used in the present days. The banana fibers are natural products, bio-degradable and eco-friendly. In India, there are about 5 lakh hectares of banana cultivation areas. The extraction of banana fibers is long time process and also quality of the product varies according to the extraction method. To make the time requirement less and also to improve the quality of the product, the banana fiber extracting machine is designed and fabricated. This machine is a commercial product which can be used by all category people including the rural areas and also by the farmers which will provide an additional income to them. This product is particularly designed for extracting banana fibre from the banana pseudo stem. The machine mechanism is designed in a very modest way which can be used by everyone. The major components used are frame, paddle, bearing, chain, sprocket, flywheel, hard chromed blades with blunt edges roller and shaft.
