Abstract
- This document contains the results of archaeological testing and a plan for data recovery on a portion of site AZ T:12:70 (ASM) (Pueblo Patricio). Archaeological investigations of the project area are being conducted in advance of construction of a portion of the Phoenix Bioscience Center. In a preliminary report of testing results (Sorrell 2006b), EcoPlan recommended data recovery excavations within the project area. Despite substantial disturbances from construction/demolition activities within much of the testing area, which have truncated several possible features, all of the prehistoric features discovered during testing appear to retain integrity and, hence, data potential for the study of Hohokam material culture. Moreover, EcoPlan recommended no further explorations into Features 8 and 9 - the two potentially historic features identified dining testing. This recommendation was based on the poor condition of these features, the paucity of associated artifacts, and the lack of associated stratified deposits that might be explored archaeologically.
