Specific Aspects Related to CET

Evolutionary psychotherapies stem directly from the tenets of evolutionary psychology. As such, a therapist who is providing this kind of interventions must be well versed in the theoretical aspects of evolutionary psychology. Conversely, the main methods used in Cognitive Evolutionary Therapy for Depression are those also used in CBT and, as such, a therapist with experience in CBT might find it easier to adapt than one specialized in other therapeutic approaches. This chapter presents several aspects specific to Cognitive Evolutionary Therapy that clinicians should be aware of in therapy.
