Abstract

The extinction coefficients of monodispersed spherical particles suspended in water were measured by monochromatic light. PSL particles and silica particles were used as samples, and the particle sizes were O.1-1μm and 1-10μm, respectively. The wavelength was changed from 200 to 1100nm. Good correlation between the measured extinction coefficients and the size parameter assured the accuracy of the measurement
