Abstract

Twenty-two samples of poultry offal meal were evaluated for proximate composition and nitrogen corrected true metabolizable energy (TMEn) content. Wide variations were noted in fat, ash, protein, and TMEn content, with the latter values ranging from 3626 kcal/kg (1648 kcal/lb) to 5247 kcal/kg (2385 kcal/lb). A prediction equation to estimate TMEn was developed based on fat and ash content.
