Abstract

This hackathon will support research reproducibility and rigor by having researchers from the social, behavioral, and biological sciences develop data processing and/or analysis pipelines using standard computational tools (e.g., R, Python, Git, etc.). Researchers will select a part of their methodology that would be helpful to automate and over the course of two days write scripts to complete the steps computationally. An instructional pre-event will be held to introduce the tools and researchers will not be expected to have any previous experience with these tools in order to participate. The hackathon and Software Carpentry sessions are generously funded by UMN Informatics Institute, Medical School, and University Libraries.
