Abstract
- Three previously undescribed species of the loricate chrysophyte genus Dinobryon (D. brucei K.H. Nicholls sp. nov., D. dillonii K.H. Nicholls sp. nov. and D. praecambrianum K.H. Nicholls sp. nov.) have been found in several lakes and ponds in Ontario, Canada. All possess a lorica morphology distinct from other members of the genus, thus allowing their designation as separate species. Stomatocysts for two of the new species, D. dillonii and D. praecambrianum are described, but the stomatocyst for D. brucei is still unknown, despite the presence of abundant vegetative material in two lakes.
