Wideband transmission/absorption active metasurface

Abstract

Here a novel active ABA metasurface with wideband transmission/absorption is proposed, which consists of a metallic mesh layer (B layer) sandwiched by two layers of metallic layer (A layer). PIN diodes were embedded in the top and bottom A layers to manipulate the transmission/absorption states of the metasurface. Wide-band transmission upper than 80% in the frequency of 5.5 GHz-7.3 GHz and wide-band absorption upper than 80% in the frequency of 5.2 GHz-7.4 GHz have been achieved. The proposed active ABA metasurface have promising applications for the intelligent radome.
