Abstract
- Countries around the world are setting ambitious goals to achieve carbon neutrality by the mid-21st century. Most plans involve the integration of massive renewable energy resources into the electricity grid. In addition to the large wind and solar farms at the bulk power grid level, there is an increasing number of grid-edge distributed energy resources (DERs) in the queue of installation. Therefore, the role of electricity end users is shifting from passive consumers, who can only purchase electricity, to active prosumers, who can both produce and consume electricity.
