Abstract
- The characteristics of the breathing modes of 2-D dots are theoretically investigated as a function of the dot elliptical deformation and intensity of an applied perpendicular magnetic field. Analytic results obtained by neglecting the interelectron Coulomb interaction are compared with numerical results including interactions within the time-dependent local spin density approximation. The existence of four characteristic E0 modes and the evolution of their oscillator strength with both deformation and magnetic field are discussed. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
