Abstract: A qualitative comparison of electrostatic, electromagnetic, and piezoelectric converters was presented in chapter 3. Chapter 4 will consider the modeling, design, and optimization of piezoelectric converters. Basic design configurations will first be discussed and evaluated. Models are then developed and validated. These models are then used as a basis for optimization.
