Abstract: Changes in the surface conductance of chalcogenide glass As-Te- Ge by heat treatment in various ambients were studied. Temperature dependence of the surface conductance suggests that the increase of the surface conductance is due to a certain degenerate material chemically formed on the surface with the presence of water.
