Test and Characterization of InP-Based MMI for Data Compression Applications

Abstract
- A 2-point Haar transform (HT) building block (BB) in an indium phosphide (InP) integrated platform is proposed. The developed BB consists of a $2\times 2$ multimode interference (MMI) with two delay lines phase shifters to attain the expect operation from the 2-point HT BB. The simulation and experimental results of the MMI coupler output access waveguides are presented and discussed. A coupling ratio of 88:12 was achieved in the developed BB.
