A Three-Sample Filter for Fast Arbitrary Harmonic Elimination

Abstract

When suffering the grid voltage distortion, the phase-locked loop (PLL) should equip with the fast response filter to precisely extract the fundamental voltage information for proper grid integration. To shorten the time delay induced by filters, this paper proposes a new three-samples filter (TSF) to fast eliminate the harmonics of sampled grid voltage. Theoretically, it can filter out arbitrary individual harmonic with short time delay which could be as small as only two sampling periods. Moreover, TSF can reject a group of harmonics simultaneously within the specifically set time interval. The implementation issues of TSF as in-loop filter or prefilter for both three- and single-phase applications are demonstrated in SRF-PLL. Simulation and experimental results verified its advanced performance.
