Abstract

Our capstone team is working with UBC Parking and Access Services (UBC PAS) to create a dynamic parking sign which will allow for wireless stall restriction control. This project is a continuation of a previous year capstone project which UBC PAS wanted us to improve upon their design. The designed product will be installed in areas where stall flexibility is needed. UBC PAS will have access to an online management system to remotely control what is displayed on the sign and monitor the status of each sign. The final product will feature a programmable display showing parking information. It will be powered by rechargeable batteries and a solar panel. This document records all choices of components our team made in order to fulfill the functional and non-functional requirements while adhering to the constraints of this project. Justification for these decisions will also be included, with reference to the requirements specification key document.
