Abstract
- A new superconducting component is studied: a cryogenic phase detector. It is based on a superconductor/ insulator/superconductor tunnel junction. The basic characteristics of the detector are studied. The optimum operation modes of the device are determined. A model of the output-signal formation is developed and tested. A model that qualitatively and quantitatively describes the relation between a cryogenic phase detector and a long Josephson junction is proposed. A cryogenic phase-lock loop system with a locking band of 27 MHz is realized.
