Abstract

Magnetic susceptibility data are reported for the divalent metal phosphonates II(RPO3) · H2O (M  Mn, Fe, Co, Ni; R = alkyl, phenyl). The quasi 2D square lattice formed by the MII ions within these compounds leads to 2D antiferromagnetic properties.
