Abstract

Characteristic conditions that should be met for two‐quasiparticle chiral bands to reach degeneracy were examined using two‐quasiparticle‐plus‐triaxial‐rotor model for the A∼100, 130 and 190 mass regions. These results suggest that degeneracy in two‐quasiparticle chiral bands can be reached only for restricted particle‐hole configurations, for which the particle (hole) occupy the lowest (highest) energy orbitals in the high‐j shell, and for which the individual angular momenta are strictly mutual perpendicular.
