Potentiometric And Polarographic Determination Of The Stability Constants Of Bivalent Metal-Itaconate Complexes

The complexation between bivalent metal ions and itaconate was investigated potentiometrically at unit ionic strength in NaClO4 at 25.00±0.01°C in the pH region 2-4.5. The complexes ML, ML2, MHL, MHL2 and MH2L2 can be identified and their stability constants calculated by both a graphical and a computer method. The results are in a good agreement with those obtained from polarographic measurements.
