Abstract
- Purpose/Objective: The cytotoxic RNase, Onconase (ONC), may show promising therapeutic implication as an alternative for cisplatin and carboplatin. ONC showed inhibition of sublethal damage and potentially lethal damage repair in addition to protein synthesis by t-RNA cleavage. This led us to consider the therapeutic effectiveness of ONC cisplatin (or carboplatin) on A549 human lung tumors, including tumors previously untreatable by either cisplatin or carboplatin.
