Abstract
- The beef industry is becoming increasingly aware of the need to transform many of these slaughter cows into a value added product. Opportunities exist for a producer to develop a culled cow management program by identifying marketing options which allow marketing pounds of meat and by-products at the most opportune time for the greatest return. Key areas of such a program are maintenance of a quality assurance program, seasonal marketing flexibility, and cow weight.<br />American Association of Bovine Practitioners Proceedings of the Annual Conference, 1997
