Abstract

This paper presents the control system of five-phase machine supplied by the current source inverter. In the five-phase machine is possible to inject the third harmonic to obtain the higher value of electromagnetic torque. The control system allows to independent control of induction machine state variables in the first and the second system planes. In the proposed solution, the machine vector model is not transformed to the ( $d-q$ )-coordinate system, that is connected to rotor flux vector, but utilizes the stationary system ( $\alpha-\beta$ ). The nonlinear model linearization is based on demonstrated nonlinear variables transformation for $i$ -orthogonal $(\alpha-\beta)_{(i)}$ planes. The theoretical issues are confirmed by simulation and experimental tests.
