Abstract
- A hierarchical dynamical map is proposed to be the basic frame of sensory cortical maps. We modeled a cortical neural network and carried out a cognitive process known as “priming” in which the identification of a stimulus is facilitated as a consequence of prior exposure to it. We demonstrate that even a single cortical map can have a hierarchical function based on the dynamics of the cortical network. It has also been demonstrated that the hierarchical dynamical map plays an essential role in binding different sensory modalities simultaneously present in the same visual scene.
