Abstract
- 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition / 5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion, 6-10 September 2010, Valencia, Spain; 1997-2001<br />Inkjet printing is a technology which is very interesting in order to be applied to the metallization process to manufacture solar cells. This technique consists of the jetting of silver-content drops on the silicon wafers. By controlling thermal processes, number of passes, printing resolution and the characteristics of the drops of ink (silver concentration and drop volume) the metal fingers of the solar cell are obtained. These silver lines can give a good adherence and can improve electrical and geometrical characteristics compared to screen printing technology. The line width which can be obtained by using this technology is in the order of 40 μm, the line resistivity is near to the value of pure silver (1.55·10-6 Ω·cm²) and the specific contact resistivity is near to 1 mΩ·cm².
