Abstract

Based on the working principle of 3D tracking radar Doppler velocimeter for traffic speed enforcement, a new calibration method based on the Doppler shift simulation method is proposed in this paper. A new moving-target speed simulator is specifically designed and realized to verify the proposed new calibration method. The simulated speed range of the simulator is up to (10~250) km/h and the maximum permissible error is ±0.1 km/h, which can satisfy the calibration requirements of 3D tracking radar Doppler velocimeter. The calibration results of a selected sample validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the new calibration method.
