Abstract

In many reinforced concrete structures, the earthquake effects are met together by reinforced concrete frames and shear walls. The purpose of this study is to compare and examine the results of analysis of this type of reinforced concrete structures according to Turkish Earthquake Code 2007 ( TEC, 2007 ) and Turkish Building Earthquake Code 2018 ( TBDY, 2018 ). The rigid basement + 13 floor model building is analyzed for seismic zone 1 according to TEC (2007) and same model is analyzed at Istanbul Ataturk Airport and at Kocaeli Golcuk regions ground acceleration according to TBDY (2018) . By comparing for all the load carrying members and the parameters of the structure, it has been observed that there are serious differences between the analysis results of TEC (2007) and TBDY (2018) .
