Abstract
- Simultaneous measurement of curvature and temperature by monitoring the transmission spectrum of a hybrid-structure fiber sensor which consists of two peanut-shape structures and a FBG is proposed in this paper. Besides the transmission spectrum, reflection spectrum of this hybrid-structure sensor can also be used for the curvature measurement. Unlike the wavelength demodulation of the transmission spectrum, the reflection spectrum which employs the intensity demodulation has an evident advantage that we can realize the measurement of curvature by using a relatively simple optical power meter instead of an elaborate and expensive OSA in practical application, which can reduce the cost well.
