Feedback Effects and Nonlinear Dynamics in Resonant Tunneling Diodes

Abstract
- We propose an experimental study of the dynamical properties of a resonant tunnelling diode (RTD) emitting THz wave and subjected to electro-optical feedback and modulation. We report that the system unveils a variety of oscillations, for which we propose physical interpretation and draw a comparative confrontation to the case where pure optical feedback is applied to the device. Finally, we consider the progress in fundamental understanding and application aspects of such THz system.
