Abstract

The essential oil contents in the fruits of the native species Teucrium stocksianum growing wild in south of Iran were found to be 0.6 % (v/w) based on the fresh weight. The oil was analyzed by GC and GC-MS. Thirty six constituents, representing 90.0 % of the oil were identified. The major components of the T. stocksianum fruits oil were characterized as α-cadinol (37.6 %), α-pinene (9.7 %) and caryophyllene oxide (4.9 %).
