Abstract
- We have measured angular and charge state distributions of atomic fragments resulting from the foil dissociation of 30–120 keV/p Hn+ clusters. The fragment neutralization probability has been investigated for beam velocities above and around the Bohr velocity. At a given velocity the width of the angular distribution of neutral atoms and their yield are observed to increase with n up to n > 5 and n > 7, respectively. Moreover we have used the simpler H2+ case to propose new ideas to explain the vicinity effects observed on the charge exchange processes.
