Abstract

Planting time applications of Furadan and Counter insecticides were applied to cornfields for rootworm control at 12 locations in eastern Nebraska in 1976. All fields had a history of annual applications of Furadan for the 3+ years prior to 1976. In 1975, 6 of the fields (1-6) were judged by the authors to have unsatisfactory rootworm control. Insecticide treatments were applied over the row in a 7 inch band (incorporated by drag chains and a following rake) at 1.2 oz a.i./lOOO ft of row. Design was randomized complete block with 4 replications excepting locations 1 and 3, (3 rep). Location 4 (2 rep) and location 12 (8 rep).
